Live Oak Piper Internet Access and Gaming Terminal

For the wireless hot spot operator really looking to stand out from the competition, the Live Oak Piper is a must-have! Providing a set of computers for your customers to use in your wireless hot spot draws them in like a Pied Piper (hence the name). The Piper features reliable and economical Dell hardware, combined with a custom-configured Linux operating system loaded with a full-featured web browser and a variety of games to appeal to a range of customer age groups. It is designed to be intuitive to use and simple to troubleshoot and upgrade. More detail and photos are available in our product data sheet, which can be saved or printed for reference.

Live Oak Sieve Web Content Filtering

Many operators of public wireless hot spots are uncomfortable with the idea of providing unrestrictred access to the world wide web in their establishments. Restaurants catering to children, for example, should consider protecting their customers from a wide variety of inappropriate material including pornography and violence.

The Live Oak Sieve web content filtering service makes this possible. It works over the network without any software installation. It works independently of the Live Oak Piper , protecting customer laptops just as effectively. All that is necessary is to make a simple configuration change in your wireless router, and to be registered with Live Oak Computing as a Sieve customer.

The Sieve Web Content Filtering service can also be used to protect Internet users at home or in a private office.

Live Oak Control Panel Customer Portal

The Live Oak Control Panel is scheduled to be developed in the second half of 2006. It will be a web portal site for each Live Oak customer. We intend to provide each of our customers with usage statistics and other useful information about their Pipers and wireless network, and allow them to make configuration changes specific to their site, and to contact Live Oak Computing for support.
